Sagging curtains, door
tell part of the story of
this abandoned place.
I really love this one!
The shop of a witch in Texas ? your images of dereliction have a lot of power.
Thanks, Vera. In spite of the “God is Love” sign on the window, this place did seem sort of witchy.
Thanks! I am always happy when I see something like this old place!
The signage and the ‘God is Love’ in the window allows one’s mind to create it’s own interpretations of what went on beyond those sad windows. It’s one of those shots so many of us would have walked by without a second glance.
It’s astonishing how many more details I notice when I’ve got a camera in my hand.
I think those windows are very sad. The way the draperies sag, that bit of ivy that’s somehow still alive, and the very fact that someone thought draperies were an appropriate window covering for a gas station all add up to a great deal of sadness.
