Last year, death approached.
I took photos – it was all
I knew how to do.
in memory of my dad
photographed various days, June 2015
Beautifully done, Melinda. That Father’s Day card – the clock, all of it. Anniversaries can be tough. Take care –
Here’s a story from yesterday, which links up with the four images:
One year ago today, my dad was admitted into hospice care. He passed away in September.
For decades, he kept turtles in his backyard. He’d feed them carrots and lettuce and cat food, and they’d help themselves to strawberries from his garden. When he couldn’t live at home any longer, he missed the turtles.
This morning, my first fatherless Father’s Day, we found a turtle on our porch, like a message. Or a messenger.
