Always a reliable indicator.
Usually. I have a more recent experience that involves (1) lunch (2) traveling through the oil-and-gas-boom-infested part of Texas (3) and eating lunch at a “man camp” chosen in part because there were not many other options but also because there were in fact a lot of trucks parked outside. It was….surreal. But at least the food was awful.
Well, looking at the bright side, it’s good to have a complete experience.
It was the highlight of our trip. Which tells you a lot.
You seem to be completely putting me off of Central Texas. I flew over south central Texas just a few days ago, at night. Looking out the window at all of the oil wells gassing off bright orange flames in the night, I thought there must be a better way.
